This work is a smaller execution of the larger sculpture ‘Monument’. The definition of the word ‘monument’ is: ‘a structure built to remember an event in history.’ It comes from the Latin “monumentum” derived from the word moneo, monere, which means ‘to remind’ or ‘to warn.’ Lisa wants to leave the deeper meaning open to the viewer, but the origins of the concept is an expression of her own climate anxiety and emotional response to the impact of climate change. The future of the planet and the wildlife and humans living here.
The internal and external structure are made entirely from paper and it’s the most varied use of paper stock and techniques Lisa has used in one piece of work. Lisa used acrylic spray paint to add additional patterns and textures to the work.
All paper used is Fedrigoni FSC certified paper, made with ECF pulp with light fast pigments. Acid free, Long life ISO 9001.
Unique piece, signed and dated certificate included.
Year: 2024
Dimensions: H 22cm / W 21cm / D 21cm
Glass display dome and maple wood base: H 26cm / 25cm / 25cm
Materials: Paper, card, acrylic spray paint.
AVAILABLE.
