Nothing gold can stay.

This chrysalis is titled ‘Nothing Gold Can Stay.’ Named after the poem by Robert Frost:

Nature’s first green is gold,
Her hardest hue to hold.
Her early leaf’s a flower;
But only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf.
So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
Nothing gold can stay.

This is such a beautiful poem about the impermanence of life. Beautiful, pure and precious things cannot last forever. A caterpillar goes through the wonder of metamorphosis to live just a few weeks as a butterfly.

This chrysalis is dedicated to this thought and a reminder to try to stay present through all the pain and beauty in life. We are only here for a short time.

The poem is attached within the cavity of the chrysalis and the mirror gold card has been hand embossed.
